This week I felt a tug of war on my social feeds between the impending divorce of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and the tragic deaths of Terence Crutcher and Keith Lamont. It was a surreal juxtaposition, only made hopeful by the fact that my 10-year-old son didn't know who Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt were when I mentioned their breakup. Out of the flurry of coverage, the most aspirational moment for me was reviewing this Black Lives Matter Syllabus published by Frank Leon Roberts, a professor at New York University. Yes, Professor Roberts is teaching an actual class that chronicles the Black Lives Matter movement, contextualizing it within the civil rights struggle. And he's structured the content so brilliantly that anyone can follow along. I vote for this course to be required for all Americans.
