A Last-Minute Gift Idea: Ideas Themselves

One of the best things about being an author is that people send you advance copies of their books. If you're a book lover like me, it's the coolest thing—like people in the film industry who get to view movies before they are released to the general public. Leave it to my friend, Adam Grant, to turn his previews into a list of "New Books to Sharpen Your Mind in 2017." I was honored to see that he included Drop the Ball, but even more thrilled to see Emily Smith's The Power of Meaning and There Is No Good Card for This: What To Say and Do When Life Is Scary, Awful, and Unfair to People You Love by Kelsey Crowe and Emily McDowell. I love these books, too, and they are both released in January. So if you need a last-minute holiday gift idea, pre-order them from your favorite book retailer, then print a picture of the covers, and glue them on a card. Voilà and Happy Holidays from Aspen!
