Lots of Kleenex was needed this week as activists and funders of the women's movement gathered to honor visionary Marie Wilson. Hosted by Executive Women for Hillary and Barbara Dobkin, the fundraiser paid tribute to her relentlessness in building the Ms. Foundation for Women, co-founding Take Our Daughter's To Work Day, and launching The White House Project. Speakers included some of my long-time colleagues: VoteRunLead Founder & Director Erin Vilardi, Women and Hollywood Founder & Publisher Melissa Silverstein, and The OpEd Project Founder & CEO Katie Orenstein. We spoke about the investment Marie made in a new generation and the hope she instilled in all of us. The room nodded in agreement when one of the guests stood up to say, "Because of Marie, I believed that a woman President was possible." Here's to making Marie's vision a reality.
