The incredible Maya Angelou said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  I live by these words. But don't let the stage fool you. I'm an introvert. It's just that when you're on the planet to advance women and girls you have to speak to a LOT of people to make it happen. For me, it's been about 30,000 people over the past five years. Being a preacher's kid has come in handy.

Girls Inc.

I was honored to receive an award from Girls Inc. at their annual Strong, Smart, and Bold Luncheon. I had a formal speech prepared but after being inspired by the young woman who introduced me I decided to just speak from my heart.

Jovian Zayne

Marie Wilson taught me that a woman should always be introduced in such a way that she will want to know herself. I was thrilled to introduce my mentee, Jovian Zayne, at her book celebration. She's an incredible coach, author, and speaker who inspires me to live #OnPurpose.

The Limited

There was no way I could resist The Limited’s message of empowering women to Lead an Unlimited Life. Read more on why this campaign matters to me.


My biggest career highlight was sharing the stage with my mentor and sponsor, Marie Wilson. Before founding The White House Project she built the Ms. Foundation and co-created Take Our Daughters to Work Day. She walks the talk in making the world a better place for women.
